NotebookLM’s Gemini 3.5 upgrade adds a cloud computer and help finding sources

Google has upgraded its AI-powered note-taking app, NotebookLM, to the Gemini 3.5 model, promising improved accuracy and reliability. A significant new feature allows users to initiate research projects by asking questions directly, prompting the AI to find relevant web sources. Additionally, the app now incorporates a secure cloud computer via Google's Antigravity platform, enabling it to write and execute code. The update also expands output capabilities, allowing users to export research in various formats, including PDFs, data visualizations, and Microsoft Office files. These features are currently available to Google AI Ultra and Workspace customers, with broader rollout plans expected later.
