Purchased for $57,590 from Realbotix—a company with corporate links to a sex doll manufacturer—the project has raised severe concerns among educators regarding data privacy, software security, and the dehumanization of the teaching profession. Furthermore, local residents and members of the Seneca nation condemned the choice of a school with a nearly 40% Native American student body for such an experiment, comparing it historically to the trauma of boarding schools. While Realbotix stated the tools are meant to complement education rather than replace teachers, the state education department has also raised serious concerns.
