Gritt exits stealth with $34 million for robots to build solar plants—then, everything else

Gritt, a robotics startup founded by Puneet Puri and Vishal Dugar, has emerged from stealth with $34 million in total funding. The company develops AI-driven software that integrates with off-the-shelf hardware, such as skidders and robotic arms, to automate labor-intensive tasks like solar panel installation. By enabling machines to navigate unstructured construction environments, Gritt helps human crews increase their daily panel installation capacity from 800 to up to 4,000 units. The company currently counts three of the top 10 U.S. power construction firms as clients and plans to expand its automation capabilities to other infrastructure tasks, such as drilling and rebar tying, in the future.
