ChatGPT’s Computer History tracks your clicks and keystrokes

OpenAI has introduced a new opt-in feature called Computer History for its macOS desktop app. This tool tracks user clicks and keystrokes to build an activity timeline that ChatGPT and Codex can reference, helping to learn workflows, suggest automations, and resume unfinished tasks. Unlike Microsoft's controversial Windows Recall feature, OpenAI emphasizes that Computer History records text-based events rather than capturing images, videos, or audio. Users maintain privacy control by being able to opt in, exclude specific apps and websites, delete entries, and automatically bypass incognito or private browser tabs.
