OpenAI and ServiceNow expand partnership across enterprise workflows

OpenAI and ServiceNow are expanding their partnership to integrate AI models and agents into ServiceNow products and connect ServiceNow workflows with ChatGPT and Codex.

Summary

OpenAI and ServiceNow are expanding their partnership, announced in January, to embed OpenAI models and agents into ServiceNow products and connect ServiceNow workflows with ChatGPT and Codex. A new ServiceNow integration in ChatGPT will let users investigate issues and take actions like finding similar incidents, assessing change risk, and updating records without leaving ChatGPT, with ServiceNow's Action Fabric enforcing business rules and permissions. ServiceNow is also previewing interactive experiences inside ChatGPT, such as an on-call engineer reviewing alerts, recent changes, and affected services to assign teams and work toward a fix. The companies plan to develop new capabilities in application development (a Codex integration in AI Workflow Factory, plus OpenAI models powering Build Agent and Autonomous Engineer), cybersecurity (a joint solution combining OpenAI's security capabilities with ServiceNow's asset, identity, and business context), and voice (an OpenAI-powered experience in Super Intelligence Control Tower). ServiceNow plans to give all employees access to ChatGPT Work and Codex, and OpenAI is using ServiceNow workflows in its own operations. The ServiceNow MCP plugin is available today, with enhanced capabilities expected by the end of 2026; voice capabilities in the first quarter of 2027; security capabilities in early access in January 2027 with general availability in the second quarter of 2027; and Codex in AI Workflow Factory in 2027.
